Jonathan Franzen hates e-books! But he is wrong, so wrong! They are good! Well, some of them are. Look, you can buy this one by the Shark Blokes, which is full of lists and sarcasm. Or this one by Dr Hocking, which is about ice cream. Or even this one by Jonathan Franzen, but you’d probably better not, because he might get upset. Maybe someone should just steal his glasses. He likes that sort of thing.

Thank you for those, Tim. I don't mind paying those prices (not the Franzen one - we got that out of the library).
Yes, well he also dislikes cats and the internet. (http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/01/30/things-jonathan-franzen-says-are-bad-for-society-kakutani-facebook.html :)
I don't like the kindle either but I also don't see why the opinion of an overrated author should sway anybody's opinion.
Competitive, aren't they Geoff? I think downloads will only really take off when they're in the same price range as the bookstall at a church fete.
But what about cats on the internet, Art?
Whereas, Garth, underrated authors should determine our every move and thought.
Should they? A very strange conclusion Tim :]
Franzen there, The Corrections. When it comes to books and those about which I have no feelings one way or t'other, I frequently forget what they are about and who most of the characters were etc. but name a book I've read and I can generally recall something about it. Not so with The Corrections. I know I've read it but I cannot remember one solitary thing about it.
I keep thinking I remember it, but then I realise I'm actually remembering All Families Are Psychotic by Douglas Coupland. Which, I suspect, will please neither author.
Yes! Very similar, but one is much more memorable than the other.
