Grounded

In which I muse on the inherent paradoxes at the heart of China's economic development over the last 30 years, and still find time to have a pop at Martin Scorsese.

what a wanker

Fair point.

But at least my wank is conducted in the cold light of identification and attribution, as distinct from nervous, embarrassed tugging in the gloom of anonymity. Incidentally, Mummy's noticed those funny marks on the crotch of her little boy's Pokemon jimjams, but she doesn't like to mention it.

You know you've made it when you start attracting trolls, Tim. I never get them - *jealous*

See what happens when you dare to question the great republican god Scorcese.

let's see, you bashed Starbucks so, +1, but then you bashed Scorcese so -1. and you made statements about China which some people agreed with, and others called into question because perhaps you hadn't been in the country long enough (long enough for what, i wonder?); that would be +1 and -1.

you would end up even, except for the "wanker" comment which rates you +5 so now you are ahead. of course, i have no idea what the game is......

Seems an odd thing to start trolling about... but that's trolls for you.

Well it's either Starbucks, the Chinese government, Martin Scorsese's 'people', someone I know, or a random dickwad.

Or a combination of the above.

If you're gonna piss people off, it might as well be the right people, Tim. It'd probably be a lot worse if that charming chap agreed with you.
