Police have escorted a 24-year-old man off a plane at Durham Tees Valley airport, after a taxi-driver reported that he'd been singing along to a song by The Clash."The report was made with the best of intentions and we wouldn't want to discourage people from contacting us with genuine concerns," said a police spokeswoman, without any apparent irony.
The potential for Situationist-type mischief is, of course, immense. Next time I hear someone singing along to, say, James Blunt, I'm calling in armed response. Well, if they can take out people for looking a bit Brazilian...

What would have happened if he'd been singing "Bomb the Pentagon" by Primal Scream.
I think the taxi driver was to be applauded. People with such poor taste in music should not be encouraged to travel.
presumably they will be arresting the Clash, or what remains of them, for glorification of terrorism any day soon
