I had hoped that the thousandth post on this blog might have been a happier one, but not so. Farewell, you magnificent beast.

Oh, dear. There is a peculiar, slightly ribald gravitas only achieved by the classic enormous ginger beast. As a fellow co-habitant with same I am very sorry to hear of one passing. It's a worthy 1000th post. Commiserations.

Actually, he maintained a rather supercilious attitude with regard to Sir Bertrand, Rog. Sitting on the arm of the sofa and whacking his head with a languid paw. That sort of thing.

Thank you, extemporanea. His gingeriness was indeed a key part of his magnificence.
