a fourragère of snot and blutwurst
Aside from the eccentric genius of his creations, Oliver Postgate had a wonderful voice that made me feel as if I was being tucked-up in a warm, cosy bed.
Not particularly a fan of Bagpuss, but for The Clangers alone, Postgate deserves respect. What a fierce bitch :(
I agree, Betty - The Clangers was inspired.when I heard this on the radio this morning, my first thought was 'I bet Tim posts about this'.wv=toped (I wish!)
I fear that I am slowly turning into Bagpuss.I suspect that you may be Bangkok's answer to Professor Yaffle.
I've always been a fan of pink knitted mice.
Aw. That was really beautiful.
It was great, wasn't it, Steerforth? He was everyone's bonkers granddad. He was 83, Betty. But it's like Humph - we thought he'd go on forever.Happy to be so predictable, Marsha.I think my resemblance to Professor Yaffle was first pointed out when I was about eight, Garfer. It's a badge I wear proudly. And I'm sure they're quite fond of you, Billy.Yes, Annie - the entire blogosphere is dissolving in a puddle of dewy-eyed nostalgia.
What a great life's work. And, yes, marvellous, marvellous voice. May he rest in peace.
